Mitú is an electronic language born from Julian Salazar ́s analog keyboards and Franklin Tejedor ́s drums, which take us to the deepest sound landscapes from the tropical jungle; surroundings of a wildlife that is hiding between the forest and circular sounds. A universe created from the mixture of rhythms like jungle, cumbia, porro, synth-pop, among others.
Mitú was founded in 2012, in the same year of the release of their first album, Potro; nominated to Best Album by Premios Shock, Colombia in 2013. In April 2014 the group released their second album Balnear.
Mitú ́s songs are mostly instrumental, they articulate the electronic rhythms with the tempo of the drums and the Palenquera dialect; a unique language only spoken by the small population of San Basilio de Palenque, a town in the Caribbean Coast of Colombia.
The duo ́s live performance is usually defined by the experimentation of sounds that oscillate between the traditional and the modern. An experience that allows us to travel through unknown places, where Mitú navigates.
